THE WORST SCI-FI PREQUEL EVER!

Live action short treatment

try #2

Fade in to starfield. Opening credits appear on starfield. Camera pans DOWN to see Earth in all its majestic glory. The setting is sometime in the not-too-far future. We get closer and closer to Earth, and in a brilliantly-concieved string of cuts, we break through cloud layers and see Cape Canaveral, with a rocketship set up on a pad.

Cut to some people talking at the desk. The person behind it is General Rigel, and the person on the other side is Captain Proxima, who is the captain for the first space mission of the new Festus ship. The new Festus is, of course, only the latest in a long line of ships that include those that fought in the Battles of Guadalcanal and the Line. This new Festus has a number of problems with its nuclear rocket engine, but Captain Proxima is sure it can get ironed out. Wouldn't want the ship to miss the launch window to Saturn. Also, the ship's chief scientist has fallen sick with the German measles, so he won't be able to go on the mission. They've replaced him with someone from the European Planetary Exploration Symposium. This guy is British.

Cut to this guy (who is Duke of Logan), walking around some displays and taking pictures. He gets a summons to a meeting and scurries off.

After some more exposition (which may not be neccesary), the crew climb into the Festus and it launches. The rest of the crew is in cryo-sleep, which is why we only see two, or at most three, of them during the duration of the movie.

Later, the Festus is about to make it to Saturn when they get a call from someone drifting through space who said he was abducted by aliens! They were wierd light beings, and they like to chill on the moon Titan. Convieniently, that's the destination of the Festus. This strange informant warns the Festus away from going there.

Of course, being the good Space Command officer that he is, Captain Proxima changes course and heads off for Titan. After all, this guy could be in trouble, right? They take a shuttle (which detatches from the bottom of the Festus) and land on Titan.

They find many amazing wonders there at Titan, not the least of which is a breathable atmosphere, even though it does look rather red with the help of a filter.

Strange energy signatures and other TECH seem to be emanating from a cave up on a nearby mountain. They head off to investigate. There's some wierd writing inside the cave, and no one has any idea what it means.

After a while of trying to decode it, the rock shoots at the crew of the Festus, and they shoot back, then make a run for it. They scramble down the mountain, and then jump into their shuttle and head back for the ship.

An ominous voice shows up on the Festus's comm unit: We are the light beings. You have trespassed into our space. Do not return to Titan. Attempt no landings here.

What can it mean? What will become of the light beings? Only time will tell.

Fade to end credits.
